Emergency Hurricane Recovery Grants: Apply Now!
These grants are available from the Council to help NJ humanities organizations with additional operating expenses due to damage done by or community service provided in response to Hurricane Sandy.
1) Operating support grants of up to $1,000 are available for tax-exempt humanities organizations that serve the general public in New Jersey and that incurred unexpected costs due to Hurricane Sandy. These grants can be used to defray operating expenses from adding extra hours, or needing extra staff time to brace for or clean up from the storm. They can also be used to cushion revenue loss from cancelled programs.
2) Grants of up to $1500 are offered to a local 501c3 organization willing to organize clean-up and stabilization of storm damage to a local historic cemetery.
